P.A.L.S. (Pets as Loving Support), is a Melbourne based program run by Mrs Joan Ray, in Australia.


The program facilitate dogs and owners to be carefully selected as volunteers to visit patients in various hospitals in the city as well as retirement homes.


The impact of the brief visitations and interactions with patients and staff was noticeably positive and uplifting .


This series investigates loneliness and loss of connection to family. It illustrates the consequences of  our fast paced society which has resulted in the loss of personal contact.


Progress is often looked at as a positive. Yet this series challenges that statement. Despite the latest technology, these institutions have an unmistakable air or solitude and loneliness.


The presence of dogs in their lives has made a profound difference.
